Inside the opening night of MICHEL HADDI: YOU ARE AN ICON at Galerie Artcube
An evening of photography, fashion, art and unforgettable encounters in the heart of Paris.
Paris during Fashion Week is always a special place to be. The city comes alive with creativity, extraordinary style and an international community of people who share a passion for fashion, culture and the arts. On 1 October 2026, we were delighted to bring a little of Michel Haddi’s world to the heart of the French capital with the grand opening of his solo exhibition, MICHEL HADDI: YOU ARE AN ICON, at Galerie Artcube.
And what a wonderful evening it was.
The gallery welcomed guests for an evening celebrating Michel’s remarkable photographic archive, his distinctive visual language and a career spent capturing some of the most recognisable faces in contemporary culture. Surrounded by images that tell stories of personality, attitude, beauty and rebellion, the exhibition offered visitors an opportunity to experience Michel’s work beyond the pages of magazines and into the gallery space.
A celebration of photography, fashion and culture
Michel Haddi has spent decades behind the camera, creating images that go beyond simply documenting a face. His photographs capture something more elusive: a mood, a moment, an attitude — the very qualities that can turn a person into an icon.
That spirit was at the heart of YOU ARE AN ICON.
The exhibition brought together the world of fashion photography and fine art, inviting guests to look again at the power of the photographic image and the stories that can exist within a single frame.
Opening the exhibition during Paris Fashion Week made the occasion particularly meaningful. Paris has always been a meeting point for fashion, photography and artistic expression, and it was a pleasure to share Michel’s work with guests in such an inspiring setting.
An evening to remember
One of the greatest pleasures of an exhibition opening is seeing people engage with the photographs in person — taking their time, discovering details, sharing memories and responding to images in their own way.
The evening was a celebration not only of Michel’s work, but also of the people who came together to support it. The atmosphere, the conversations and the enthusiasm surrounding the exhibition made the opening a truly memorable occasion.
It was a reminder of why photography continues to matter. Long after a photograph is taken, it can still provoke a reaction, evoke an era and create a connection between the subject, the photographer and the person standing in front of the image.
We were thrilled to see the exhibition come to life in Paris and grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate this important moment for Michel and his work.
